Solar Battery Technology

Solar Battery Technology:

The fossil fuels are becoming scarcer with each passing day and people are steadily realizing the importance of solar energy. Many individuals and businesses have started using solar energy for various purposes. One popular way of using solar energy is by connecting the solar panels to electrical grids to make a solar battery.
Solar batteries store the energy of the sun and later discharge it in the form of electricity through an inverter. Solar battery technology is considered very safe and eco-friendly. Solar batteries are more often used in places wherein frequent discharging and charging takes place.

Solar battery technology involves the use of photovoltaic cells, which convert the radiant solar energy into electrical energy. A solar battery essentially consists of a glass substrate, ethylene-vinyl acetate co-polymer (EVA) films, a backside protective component and photovoltaic elements that are sealed with EVA films. The solar battery module is developed by carrying many solar battery elements on a supporting base plate.

Benefits of Solar Battery Technology:

Unlike coal, gas and oil, solar energy is a clean, renewable and sustainable form of energy. This makes solar batteries very useful from the environment point of view. Since solar batteries do not consume fuel, they do not release greenhouse gases such as sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide or mercury into the atmosphere. They do not add to the cost and problems of the transportation and recovery of fuel or storage of any radioactive waste. The best thing is solar batteries do not generate any waste or by-products and considered as eco-friendly options.

Other important benefit of using solar batteries is that, it sends the excess energy back to the electric company. This not only prevents wastage of energy but also lowers the electricity bill amount and saves a considerable amount of money.

Rechargeable batteries are known to be expensive and have a short shelf life. Typical batteries such as lithium ion batteries have a high storing capacity. However, they take a long time to get recharge and deliver a weak output. Here, a solar battery recharges much quickly and delivers better output.

Solar batteries are easy to use and maintain.

Current Uses:

Solar battery is employed in many electronic equipments in the form of power supply substitutes for dry batteries. Solar batteries are well suited for places such as remote area power stations wherein no electrical power is available from the grid. Solar batteries are also used in less power consuming electronic equipment such as watches, electronic desktop calculators and portable electronic devices such as cellular phones, digital cameras, and commercial radar detectors.

Therefore Solar Energy is really helpful in all the mater. :)

  1. yeah the main thing I like in this is "Solar batteries are also used in less power consuming electronic equipment such as watches, electronic desktop calculators and portable electronic devices such as cellular phones, digital cameras."

    This makes my great help
